The Shanghai Expo tour exhibition opened yesterday in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province.

Guangzhou is the last stop of the Expo tour in China this year. The exhibition will run through December 12 at Tianhe Stadium.

The 18,000-square-meter Guangzhou exhibition will also display World Expo history and Guangzhou's participation in Aichi Expo 2005.

Shanghai Expo is a historical opportunity for the country and to participate in the event is an important political task of Guangdong, said Tang Bingquan, vice governor of Guangdong, at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

Shanghai Vice Mayor Yang said the Expo needs the support of all provinces and cities in China. Shanghai will enlarge the Expo effect to share the Expo opportunity with everyone in the country.

The Expo touring exhibition has also stopped in Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing, Hangzhou and Chongqing, attracting a total of about 400,000 visitors.

The exhibition introduced the history of World Expo and China's participation in the event by showcasing more than 200 pictures and some models of landmarks from previous World Expos. This included the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Crystal Palace in London. (Source:www.expo2010china.com)
