The World Expo tour exhibition will open in Chongqing, one of the four municipalities in China, the organisers said yesterday at a press conference.

More than 30 media attended the meeting to know about the latest news of the Expo's preparation and the details of the tour exhibition.

Zhu Yonglei, deputy director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, said Chongqing can take the advantage of Expo 2010 to introduce the sole provincial-level municipality in western China to show its diverse cultures as well as its economy development on an international stage.

Zhu also said he hope the city can share its ideas of Urbanization and will participate in the competition of Urban Best Practice Area to display the city's experience during its development.

Shanghai Expo promotion week will kick off in Chongqing today, which includes a forum on digital display tech and a lecture on Expo knowledge.

The Expo touring exhibition will also make a stop during the week. It has stopped in four cities -- Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing and Hangzhou -- attracting about 350,000 visitors in total. (Source: www.expo2010china.com)
